Come out for desserts, games, and a time of worship to reflect on Christ’s birth! You know you need a break from studying

If you have any, please bring any Christmas props you have! For example, hats, reindeer antlers, feather boas, etc!
We will be having a special station, so you might want to dress festively!

In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Lee

Jeffery Lee went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2011.

Jeffrey Lee was born on February 23,1990 in Fountain View, CA. He grew up in Cerritos, CA and attended Whitney High School (Class of 2008). His main hobbies in high school were basketball and water polo. Jeff was serious about his Christian faith and reaching out to others. Jeff died on November 20, 2011 after finishing the Philadelphia Half Marathon.

Jeff was pursuing a dual-degree program at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Wharton School and the School of Nursing, and the Nursing Administration Master’s program. He was prepared to graduate in May 2012. He was going to work for Microsoft in the state of Washington after graduation. He has worked on different healthcare issues, including an academic paper awaiting publication, Health Reform and the Constitutionality of the Individual Mandate in Policy, Politics & Nursing Practice in which he was first author in collaboration with Dr. Matthew McHugh. He had also worked with Dr. Mary Naylor on research involving improving outcomes for cognitively-impaired older adults. With his advisor, Dr. Eileen Lake, he had also examined nurse-patient ratios in more than 100 neonatal intensive care units across the U.S.

He was cofounder of Alpha Iota Gamma, Penn’a first healthcare-oriented fraternity. He was also a member of the Residential Advisory Board, as well as a teaching assistant for anatomy. He was a leader for the Wharton Christian Group, a fellowship for undergraduate business school students. Jeff was a regular attended of Renewal Presbyterian Church and part of the church’s college ministry at Penn.

Jeff’s friends describe him as extraordinarily bright and accomplished, and also winsome, selfless and deeply caring. For a lot of them, Jeff was the first person they met in RCF. With his friendly smile, Jeff approached and welcomed others easily. From there, Jeff made himself available and helpful as an older brother. As a senior in Penn RCF, Jeff encouraged fellowship with the brothers through weekly basketball games. Throughout his years, Jeff placed his trust in God and desired to grow in God’s Word. His fellow church members at Penn, though devastated by such a sudden loss, rejoice in Jeff’s faith in Jesus Christ and mourn with the hope that he is now with his Lord and Savior in heaven.

We have large group this Friday, November 4 at 7:30 pm at STC Lecture Hall at USP!

We’ll be continuing in our series called “Radical Blessedness” on the Beatitudes. PDan will focus on the promises given by Christ for those who hunger and thirst for righteousness and for those who are pure in heart. Please join us as we continue to see how Jesus redefines for us what true blessedness is, and how it’s so different from the way the world defines it.

Join us this weekend as RCF hosts our annual Fall Retreat of 2011! Come out for a blessed weekend of worship, preaching, prayer, and fellowship. In order to see and know Christ, we must have clear eyes- to see His truth. In order to love Christ, we must have full hearts- of love, passion, and affection for Him. Let’s learn what it means to have a balanced spiritual life. He will surely meet us there!
